THE STUDY OF COOLING CAPACITY OF SYSTEM WITH PELTIER MODULE DEPENDING ON THE PARAMETERS OF THE FAN POWER SUPPLY
Thermoelectric modules, also called Peltier modules, are used mainly for two purposes: electricity generation and cooling. Among that, cooling has been a subject of research for several decades. This is because Peltier modules can be used in different configurations in medical, industrial, laboratory or military devices. The main advantages of thermoelectric technologies are: compact size, low failure rate, low levels of noise and vibration, simple use, lack of harmful refrigerant, and the fact that they can be powered by direct current, thus modules can be powered directly by PV. Due to the low cooling capacity, it is very important to ensure proper heat transfer on both sides of the thermoelectric module. This paper presents the study of the influence of fan power supply parameters on the cooling capacity of designed system with Peltier module used to cool down an experimental room of dimensions 0.5 m x 0.5 m x 0.5 m by 8 °C. The results showed that the most favorable cooling effects were obtained for a fun supplying voltage of 8 V. Increasing the voltage did not improve the cooling effect, while reducing the voltage caused a significant decrease in cooling capacity.
