In the view of a wide range of applications of phosphoric acid, mainly in fertilizer industry, H3PO4 is one of the most important products in the large volume inorganic chemistry. Its industrial production has been the subject of studies in inorganic chemical technology for many years. The main problem of the wet method, which is the basic method of phosphoric acid production, is the separation of metal ions from the unpurified acid. These ions come from raw phosphorous materials used as feed in the phosphoric acid production method. There are studies about the use of organic solvents in purification of phosphoric acid by extraction method. Researchers are looking for new methods of assessment of other extractants due to the increasing impurity of available raw materials. The main objective of this study was to simulate the method of phosphoric acid purification by extraction. Diisopropyl ether was used as an organic solvent. Results of the simulation have been compared with laboratory results. That allowed to verify the proposed model. The mathematical model can be assessed in terms of its usability for different extractants in the future.
